Refund and Payment Policy
Digital downloads are delivered immediately. This policy explains the limited cases where we refund, how to ask and how long it takes.
Last updated 5 November 2026
1. Digital downloads and immediate access
A song download is digital content delivered immediately after a successful payment. Once the download link has been issued and the file has been accessed, the purchase is generally final because the content cannot be returned.
This does not remove rights you have under Ugandan consumer law where the content is faulty, not as described, not delivered, or the payment was not authorised.
2. Price and free records
The price shown at checkout is the price that applies. The default is UGX 500 per paid download, but artists may set another price. Free records cost nothing and do not create a payment.
If you are charged more than the price displayed, contact us with the transaction reference and we will investigate.
3. When we refund
- You were charged but no entitlement was created and the download is still locked.
- You were charged twice for the same song in the same account.
- The file is corrupted, incomplete or cannot be downloaded after we have tried to fix it.
- The payment was made without your authorisation and the provider confirms the fraud or error.
- The record was removed before you could download it and no replacement or alternative remedy is available.
- A refund is required by Ugandan law or by the mobile money provider's rules.
4. When we normally do not refund
- You changed your mind after downloading the file.
- You bought the wrong song by mistake after the title, artist and price were clearly shown.
- Your device cannot play the format even though the song page states the format and size.
- You lost the file after downloading it; you can download it again from your library while the entitlement exists.
- The artist later changes the price or makes the record free. Price changes are not retroactive.
5. How to request a refund
Email support@mpabeat.com with the subject "Refund request". Include the account email, song title, payment date, amount, mobile money provider, transaction reference and what went wrong. Do not send your PIN.
We aim to acknowledge within two business days and decide within 14 days after we have the information we need. If we need more time, we will tell you why.
Approved refunds are returned to the same mobile money number used for payment unless the provider requires another route. We do not pay cash or send refunds to a different person's number.
6. How long refunds take
Once approved, we instruct the provider. Mobile money refunds commonly appear within 3–10 business days, depending on MTN, Airtel and network processing. Bank or card timings, where applicable, may be longer.
We will give you the refund reference so you can follow up with the provider if needed.
7. Reversals and chargebacks
If a payment is reversed by the provider, we may suspend the entitlement while the reversal is investigated. If you believe a reversal is wrong, contact us with the provider reference.
Fraudulent chargebacks or payment reversals may lead to account suspension. We cooperate with providers and lawful investigations.
8. Your statutory rights
Nothing in this policy limits any right you have under the Sale of Goods and Supply of Services Act, Cap 82, the Electronic Transactions Act, 2011, the Contracts Act, 2010 or other applicable Ugandan law.
If you are not satisfied with our decision, you may complain to the relevant consumer protection authority or seek a remedy in the courts of Uganda.
